Dr. Jason Booy
Not accepting new patients
After completing 18 months of contract work with Village Family Health Team, I am very fortunate and grateful to be joining full-time, and taking over the practice of Dr. Donald Smith upon his retirement. I look forward to practicing comprehensive family medicine for this group of amazingly diverse and interesting patients!
I completed my medical school and family medicine residency at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Prior to working at VFHT, I have worked with a number of family health teams across the city of Toronto. Although Canadian by birth, I spent most of my childhood in Tanzania, East Africa, and I speak conversational Swahili.
I am a big believer in patient-centered care, and do my best to treat patients as a whole – taking into account their values, and placing them at the centre of the decision-making. I am a strong promoter of preventative care. I do my best to practice evidence-based medicine by using the best available research to inform my practice.
While I enjoy the broad scope of comprehensive family medicine, I do have a special interest in sexual health, and I also work at Toronto’s Hassle Free Men/Trans Sexual Health Clinic.
